Character Building Restoration in Edinburgh by Cramond Renovations

This project had a rather unfortunate beginning, but thankfully, a wonderful ending.

Our clients had initially engaged another building firm who unfortunately took a substantial amount of his money before abandoning the project. We were then contacted by him to advise on how best to complete the works and, importantly, how much intrusive investigation would be required to understand what had already been installed.

Once we began peeling back the layers, we uncovered and corrected a number of issues. From there, we could finally put the care, craftsmanship and love back into this wonderful building.

Our clients had an incredible eye for detail, which made the project all the more enjoyable. One of the details we particularly loved was reusing bricks salvaged from a removed wall to create the new fireplace surround. Set against the dark window frames and beautifully finished engineered timber flooring, the result is both striking and sympathetic to the character of the building.

The transformation was incredible, but perhaps the most rewarding part of the project was seeing our clients’ excitement return after what had been such a disappointing experience with their previous builder. We were delighted to help turn a difficult start into a home they could once again be proud of and enjoy.
